When I said I needed to write more, I didn’t think the words I would write after would be laden with grief. Yet, here I am with a heavy heart, eyes welled with tears, writing a eulogy for someone who was dear to me.
Omotayo, I met you when we were silly, skinny, rough-faced boys. We had just finished secondary school. We became so close that you became more than a friend. You became my brother. I loved you like I love my own blood brother. I thought we would grow old together. I was looking forward to having more jam sessions with you, but death’s cold hard has seized you.
I’m writing these words to tell the world how amazing you were. You lived a full, happy life. You made people happy. You spread happiness into people’s lives. I will forever remember all the moments we shared. You were a beautiful soul.
I know these tears will never stop flowing, but I hope we’ll meet somewhere again. Till we meet again, Omotayo Amosun.
